Estimates are that only one percent of the online content is in Arabic despite the 320 million Arabic speakers.</div><div><br />Coming on the heels of its deal with Microsoft (<a title="More opinion and analysis of MSFT" href="http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=MSFT" _extended="true">MSFT</a>), Yahoo is also seeking additional expansion opportunities in emerging markets such as Latin America, Southeast Asia, India and Africa. The company plans to layer in Yahoo Messenger and Yahoo Mail. It also has plans to form editorial teams to cover regional news and information services within these expanded markets.</div><div><br />Venture capital investments within the U.S. sank 61% in Q1 2009, dropping to the lowest level in 12 years. VC investments in the totaled $3 billion in Q1 2009.
